I'm not entirly sure if this is the place to post this,
but I'm running low on options, so here goes:
I recently installed Windows XP(about three months ago),

I completed a reformat and a fresh reinstall of WindowsXP with no changes to
the hardware. I reinstalled all applications as before with no Changes.
Now Device Manager is showing the Yellow? under Other Devices [failed
installation of an SM controller].

Does anyone know how I can add an internal DVD-RW to a system that has a DVD+R and a CD-ROM. I guess is it possible to have 2 slaves and 1 master? Thanks

after updating windows xp and norton internet security,
I restarted my computer and it never rebooted.
I installed a second drive and loaded winxp to it.
after getting up and running i found that my first drive

I was using both of my CD-ROM drives last night everything
was working fine. I shut my computer down with no hassle
too. However, when I came to listen to a music CD today, I
found that NEITHER of my CD-ROM drives were available

my computer is not loading my windows xp program.  it
attempts to read it when i start the computer, but then
just stops...the screen however is fine.  please can

I am having a problem with Windows XP professional. It appears that
after my screensaver comes on my CPU Usage is going to 100%. I've
checked for spyware, viruses, trojans, unusual things in the startup/
startup registry and the like but don't see anything.  I think the

There used to be a setting "Speaker on until connected" in
earlier versions of windows. (I am guessing it was a
windows setting) I am now using XP Pro and all I can find
is the slider for off/on. My bookkeeper feels better if

recommended drivers is still freezing up. But it was fine
just a week ago before I replaced the HDD and reinstalled
XP. Is there a scanning service I can subscribe to to
