my laptop has been skipping a lot recently, i think it's overheating, i can still feel the heat by the fan, but it doesn't seem to be blowing out, its a hi-grade, r5400, any idea's how i can sort out the fan/check if its working?

Wonder if someone has a clue to these USB problems:
1. I can't plug and play a device connected to the USB

How do I know what type of memory I have and what type I need? What is
the difference between DDR and SDRAM? Does it matter if it is PC2700,
PC133, or PC100? Thanks for your help.
