I don't use my DVD writer very often. When I went to use
it just now it wasn't where it should be. So I went to
control panel>system>device manager and it was on the
list with a red cross on the icon. Windows says it is

Ive just re-installed Windows XP on my laptop.  Why is it
that i either have to have a tiny screen in the middle for
good quality 32bit color?
But when i change the screen resolution to fit the screen

One XP Pro computer reads the HDD just fine, most other
XP Pro machines do not.  I assume this is a service pack
or fix difference.  Do you know of a specific fix for
this?  The HDD is a 2.5 inch inside an Enermax case with

I cant access my 40g hd because of an error involving
Roxio's GoBack.  I forgot to disable it before trying to
upgrade to a 250g hd.  I messed that part up so I wanted
to back out and start again.  When I rebooted the 40g it

Ok.  I obviously screwed up by not disabling goback
before I attemtped to add another hd.  i messed up the
install of a 250 gig hd so I reverted back to my 40g.  
However, windows wont boot up past the initial windows

My DVD/CD (drive D) on my system will not autorun when I
place a CD in it. When I click on the drive in My
Computer, it says 'write these files to the CD'. I have
tried purchased music CDs and purchased game CDs but it

i plugged in my speakers (which have worked before i
might add) after not using it for a while and they aren't

I recently reformated my C drive from XP Pro to XP Home.
With XP Pro, both of my disks were working and
accessible. Now under XP Home, my second disk (D) is

OK, so every now and then I get a
Page_Fault_In_NonPaged_Area and WAM.SYS blue screen STOP
0x00000050 are on the screen.  I can not find "Wam.sys"
anywhere, nor can I find out how to fix.  I know it's a
