hi im having trouble with a couple of things on my pc. im
am trying to access a cd for my printer to repair it and
i come up with a message saying
"C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\AUTOEXEC.NT. the system file is not

Every time i place a disc in the cd or the dvd and try to install the system
crashes and re-boots.

P4 3GHz on an ASUS P4S800 motherboard running Windows XP Pro SP1 with
all patches short of SP2.  Video card is ATI Radeon 9200SE with latest
driver (6.14.10.6476, 8/25/04) from ATI installed.
I have set Power Options to turn off monitor after 15 minutes.  It

I have a GeForce4 FX-5200 Video card that constantly causes a BSOD
since I've put in SP2.  The message states that the driver nv4_disp
causes an infinite loop.  Has anyone seen or fixed this?  I've added
the latest driver, but this has not helped.  Any ideas?

I have a system with two seperate DVD drives, 1-DVD Writer and 2-DVD Rom.
My question is if I change the region setting on one drive will XP also
change the region for the second drive?  With a limited number of changes I
want to make sure that I don't "waste" two changes to see ...

How can I stop the "Autoexec.nt" file from being deleted from the "System32"
directory when I close windows down.  If not, can I make windows copy a
backup of this file at start up?

I'm trying to install Windows XP on a RAID 0 array, but Setup is proving to
be a pain in the arse. I need to manually configure two settings:

recently had a crash and after reloading xp and getting everything reloaded i
now seem to have 2 hard drives and am constantly getting pop up warning of
low space on " f " drive and my hard drive should be on " c " drive  what is

I have a XP Pro PC that when I plug in any new USB device, does not
display "Found New Hardware" bubble in the system tray, and does not
invoke the Found New Hardware Wizard.
The devices show up in Device Manager under "Other Devices" with a

I was wondering if anyone could help me.  When I try to copy my pictures to
the D drive an error message comes up that says, D: drive is not accessible
or wrong volume in drive.  Any help to correct this problem would be

A nuisance sound comes out of the right side speaker of my WinXP Pro (SP1a)
laptop. It's a continuous, rapid clicking noise; sounds more like an
underwater porpoise than a computer ;-) Started doing this today just after
bootup, and rebooting doesn't clear it. Not possible to affect ...
