Each time I boot up I get a window which says that XP has recognized a new printer (not so!) and initiates a wizard to complete installation. How do I get rid of this annoyance?

when i used windows 2000, my speakers worked perfectly. But after installing xp, "creative audio PCI" was set as default speakers. How can i get my old speakers re-installed? Thanks.
