   I built a new computer a three weeks ago.  The motherboard supports
hardware raid with the silicon image chips and driver.  I set up two
drives in a RAID 1 configuration.  I have the raid set partitioned as C:
and D:.

I just made a fresh install of XP Pro SP1 on a new PC with a SCSI disk as
boot drive.
Everything went fine, until I removed the XP install CD from the CD drive.
Since that time, I got  at boot time:

Even though the drive is now installed and is storing data OK, every boot-up
tells me the system has found new hardware and wants to install the software
for it.
My biggest problem is probably I should have read these posts rather than

I'm running a pretty old machine ASUS MB, AMD k6III 450, ~190MB, XP Pro sp2.
I have 2 HDs, one (C:) 8GB and one 40GB, both Max, both worked fine till to
day.
The BIOS can see and recognize both, XP does not see the second one any

My Laptop motherboard died and I want to copy some files over to my new
Desktop but when the Laptop Hard Drive is connected to my new Desktop, there

I have a Sony DVD-RW that correctly appears in the hardware
configuration as a Sony DVD-RW DRU-500A.  The problem is that I cannot
get WinXP to see the drive as also capable of burning CDs.  For
example, I would like to right click on a file and have the option to

It seems that all of the USB adapters for infrared and
bluetooth that I can find support only USB 1.1. Am I looking
in the wrong places or is this the "state of the art" or
something?

I put an IDE hard drive in an USB enclosure, formatted the disk, and
plugged it in.  XP does see the drive (it comes up as a USB Storage
Device) but does not automatically assign it a drive letter.  I would
like to write a program in C++ or VB that automatically assigns a

My computer died (which uses XP), so I'm using another computer (that uses
XP) until I get it fixed.  I run a small business and there are folders I
need from desktop from the Compaq.  I've taken the hard drive out, put it
into my other pc and saved shared files that I needed, ...
