How do you unset the dirty bit for a drive. Chkdsk runs every boot up. I
have found how to set it, but not the reverse.

I have a USB device and if I unplug/plug the USB cable repeatadly and
monitor hardware connections sometimes the driver does not get loaded and
after that the device is lost, doesn't matter how many times you plug/unplug

I make regular use of external USB-2 hard drives for data back up purposes.
I have noticed that the 'discovery' time that Windows takes to 'show' a unit
from the time it has been plugged in varies from device to device, computer
to computer, and from one time to another as well.

Ok heres the situation.
a computer guy as recently come round and completly wiped out our computer
and then started again to get rid of all the viruses we had.

  Main Question: Can you run the SATA 150 on the Raid Ports without using
Raid itself to get the speed ?
I been told that if you plug into the Raid ports, no mater how they are set
you are still using slip Drives etc.

I decided to follow Bob I's advice and I did a repair install of XP -
all "slow" problems solved - speedy as ever and it was probably time anyway.
Wonder what the install of that new video card triggered though?

Windows XP Home - CD Drive GCE-8400B (LG?)
This seems to be a too common problem.  CD drive does not recognize disc in
drive.  Device Manager shows everything as o.k.  I can't read or write
anything.  Is there a fix for this problem?  Please let me know.

I have a Maxtor One Touch 120gb external hardrive.  It's been running fine

A CD/DVD doesn't automatically spin in the tray whenever it goes into my
Laptop Internal Combo CD-RW DVD-Rom.  It use too.  How can I fix and correct
the problem?
