I continulally get a bubble that states a USM device is not recognized. The
problem is there is not USB device attqched. If I remove the device or delete
Windows reacts as if it has detected new hardware and reloads the unkonw
device and we start all over again.

I was referred here from xpbasics, since nobody was able to help me
out on this. This has been more of a nuisance then a real big problem,
but I'll ask here if somebody can shed light on this bizarre problem
that seems to be SP2 related (on my machine at least):

Ever since upgrading to SP2 on my Sony laptop, whenever I connect my high-end
digital camera to an Adaptec FireConnect IEEE 1394 PC Card, the software for
the camera does not recogize that the camera is connected.

My machine frequently reboots, for no apparent reason.  Then receive an error
message after it starts up, saying that it is a driver issue.  I updated all
my major drivers, and it hasn't fixed it.  What would be the first place to
start looking at to troubleshoot this.  I haven't ...

Is there a way to lock a CD ROM drive so that it cannot be opened?  I would
rather not open up the box and pull the cord from the drive.

Can anyone help me out.  When I connect any external usb devices (such as
camera's, card readers)..... The computer makes a bleeping noise and the
devices don't work.  They work on other home edition pc's without any
problems.

I have added a new 80G HDD to my PC (P4 1.6G, 40G previously, 640M SDRAM),
but since there is a noise that I suspect coming from the HDD. What may be
the cause? May a change of power supply help solve the problem? I have
already made sure the noise is not coming from the CPU fan.

Sis 6326 video card for WXP.  Anyone know where I can find one?
