Win XP Pro - new computer build and when I fit in a PCI internal modem the computer will not boot! Everything else is working and will boot normally. What has gone "wrong"? I would appreciate any ideas on how to fix this problem.

Everytime I try to burn a CD it tells me to Please insert Disc when I already have one in there. So I go to My Computer, D Drive and explore assuming that it will just tell me that it's a blank cd but it again says Please insert disc. Any Clues??

What happens when the power supply unit is overloaded? What are the symptoms? On boot up my computer sometime just shuts down and I can't restart it until I remove the plug and the LED light goes out (about 5 seconds) and re-insert the plug.

What is the real world experience with minimum system requirements for running XP? I have a Dell with Pentium III 450 mHz processor and 256 RAM. Will This run XP somewhat efficiently? I'm a Mac user and have very little experience with Windows. Please advise. Thanks in advance.
