Running latest xp patches. Problem 1.. rebooting without warning.. I'll be working away and suddently the machine reboots.. not blue screen or anything, just reboots..

i accidentally unchecked the "always ask" box in the i.e. file download dialog, thinking it would save unnecessary clicking. silly me. would someone please tell me how to reactivate it? thanks.

i have a laptop and recently the dvd/cdrw drive has stopped reading disks no matter what i do? i havent installed any flash drive as mentioned in other discussions, the device manager says no problems! i`ve uninstalled the driver and let xp reinstall it but still the same?? any ...

I'm having no success trying to install Win XP on a brand new computer. A system has been built to the following spec: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-8I915P Duo Pro. This has an on-board SATA RAID ICH6R chipset and an IDE RAID VT6410 chipset.

I have a computer that will only boot to the HP Invents logo screen ...won't go to the bios, won't boot from cd or floppy, won't DO anything .... just sits at the logo screen for ever and ever I'm real tired of looking at it - any ideas?

for no apparent reason that I can see, windows suddenly doesn't recognize my network card, 1394 network connection or anything to do with networking. Device manager doesn't even have a "network adaptors" directory and put all the network hardware in a "unknown" directory
