Is there any way for Windows to signal external devices (think of a
relay-connected power strip or UPS), that it is going into hibernate mode or
resuming so that external devices like printers and monitors can be
synchronized to also turn off when not in use and then back on? ...

I recently bought a laptop and have an irritating problem
with it.  The DVD drive will read a disc that is in the
drive during startup, but if I replace the original disc
with another, it doesn't refresh...eg:  I have Quake3 in

I just purchased a Belkin OmniView 2-Port KVM Switch and I'm having some
problems. First of all I'm using it with a MSFT Wireless Natural Multi-Media
keyboard I was able to kind of get it to work but I seem to be having issues

I recently did a full clean install of windows xp and on
the first boot, windows recognized both of my cd-rom and
cd-rw drives and was able to read the windows xp install
disk.  When I took out the install cd and put in a

I there a way to make the F Lock key "on" by default.

I just dug out some floppies and inserted them one by one in my floppy drive
and guess what?  I see the files found on the first disk inserted one each
additional disk.  Even see them after I remove the floppy from the drive.  Is
this thing caching them or what?  Anybody know how ...
