I try to keep my system as clean as possible with the latest XP updates,
AdAware, and McAfee.  I check TaskManager and go through my RUN>MSCONFG:
StartUp folder but can find no reason so far for my harddrive to keep
running.  I'm on a cable modem.

I have To have Microsoft .NET Framework with SP1 and I cant install
services pack 1 because of one file SMSS.EXE what do I do

Thought I'd send along an update on my DVD-CD ROM drive...incase anyone else
ever has this problem.  Hopefully your outcome will be better than mine.
Besides doing everything I could think of in regards to software &

i just upgraded from windows 2000 pro to windows xp pro. now i can't access
the CDRW drive anymore and attemping to cause explorer.exe to stop responding.

I have a Belkin 1000VA UPS device. It works perfectly except for one software

I'm having difficulties connecting some USB devices.  All the USB hardware
(ports, root hub etc) show as operating OK, all the drivers have been
updated, but I cannot seem to use several different USB devices on my USB 2.0
ports (the connections are all 2.0 not 1.1).

also has a 56 k modem, how fast could would the download/upload be?  I do
realize that there would be limitations of the phone lines between the two
computers but if that factor is ignored would the speed ...
