I have 2 external Maxtor hard drives. They both work fine. Windows, on the other hand, does not. While installing the software for these 2 drives I received several "found new hardware" wizards. The OneTouch II 300 GB drive went through 3 hardware wizards,

I just got a soundblaster Live 5.1 platinum but its not working. I put it in, windows starts up, recognizes the new device...but soon after it freezes... why is this happening and how to I fix it so that I can install this

WIN XP Prof, SP2 and latest updates. There is no "Safely Remove Hardware" in my taskbar. Is there by any chance I could have removed it and if so, how can I get it back?

Every time I switch on my computer the modem is not working. I go to control panel, hardware, modems where it is listed as not functional. I remove it then add modem which then reinstalls it using the wizard. No problems until the next switch off.

I am in what appears to be a Catch-22 situation after installing XP SP2. Now, whenever I run apps like Norton Speed Disk or Disk Doctor, my PC gets a blue screen with stop code 0x0000000A. There are some other codes after this one, and based on some Google searches I have done,

I did a fresh install of XP Prof on an Acer AMD laptop. All is fine except that the only icon on the desktop is the Recycle Bin. How do I get all regular icons like My Computer, My Network Places, etc. How did this happen?

I tried installing an A-Link FireWire PCI card into my Windows XP Pro SP2 computer. After plugging it in (no devices connected), my computer wouldn't boot up properly anymore. When booting up, there was an Svchost.exe process that started eating 100%

I have an ECS PT800CE-A motherboard and a P4 processor running Windows XP Pro SP2. I have been having a lot of problems with crashing and recently found an entry in the System Logs (Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Event Viewer>System) that I think might be connected.
