Hey Guyz, My Drives have dissapeared, They dont show in My Computer, Device
manager, BIOS or BIOS Start-up (Safe-Mode & Normal)

Hello.  I just completed an upgrade to XP SP2.  I'm using a Samsung
SpintPoint UATA 10GB hard drive as my C: drive and a Maxtor 40GB UATA hard
drive as my D:.  This PC is a gaming machine I put together for my kids.  I

After a problem recently i had to reinstall windows everything ok apart from
the system is not recognising my graphics card. Tried installing the drivers
from the setup cd but to no avail. Anyone help

After fresh WinXP installation on new computer (VIA Epia, all chipset
drivers installed) I've found
USB Drive C: (removable) of size =0bytes and a "safely remove device"

Have been having problem getting XP to recognize my extra hard drive.
It finds in Device manager but it will not assign it a letter to it in MY
Computer so I can access it.

I tried to upgrade my system an LG 4163 DVD burner. Previously I got a 4160
which is working fine. When I installed, the system try to recognize it, but
when the baloon appears 'The device ready to use.' the system was reboot. The
next startup the same happened again and again.

I have Norton Internet Security with virus protection.  Does anyone know how
to disable virus protection under the security tab for Windows XP?  I am
having conflicting popup issues between the two softwares.

Quick question about the HAL.dll. We had the DLL go south on a dual boot
XP/XP-Japanese Dell OptiPlex last night. Standard boot from CD/run repair
fixed the issue.
Anyone have any idea what causes this kind of corruption? Anything I can do

FWIW: I've fixed many many PCs in a corporate evnironment where we had
lots of identical systems and I could swap a disk to another machine

Well I read the add and decided to risk £8 of my own personal money and
heres what I thought:
I wiped my machine and setup windows just as I wanted it, turned off
automatic updates, and decided to challenge the theory behind the reset
