My computer gives the illusion that it shut down.  The monitor turns off, the
lights on the keyboard turn off, and the lights on the computer turn off, yet
the computer is still running. I will be in the middle of doing something and

If I have SP2 installed and an up-to-date atapi.sys driver and want to add a
third harddrive but one that will be over 137 GB, do I need to create the
registry key  shown below or will the atapi.sys driver handle the drive's
full 250 GB without adding the registry key?

My system has Windows XP Professional, with all the updates.
My Combo CD-ROM/DVD drive is from a Notebook HP Pavilion zv5000. My system
says that it is: "HL-DT-ST DVD+RW GCA-4040N".
If I insert on the combo CD-ROM/DVD drive a CD ( music or data ), everything

I installed a USB modem and now every time I start my
computer the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon appears in the
taskbar.  Does anyone know of a way to remove this icon.

I have just built a computer with a ASUS LGA775 P5S800-VM motherboard with a

in Windows XP (Pro), every so often the driver for the Microsoft
