When I insert blank cds into the cd drive, it doesn't seem to be able to read them. The drive works fine with normal cds, it is only when I insert a blank CD that I have this problem. Is my cd drive stuffed? Should I get it cleaned? can anyone help?

ive just rebooted my computer i went to instal my sound card and when it restarted my computer my disk drives had vanished ive uninstalled them and reinstalled but the same code 39 keeps poping up for it now i cant add any drivers as i have no disk drives help
