DVD read speed drops to half on Compaq Presario 219730 Jun 2005 22:44 GMT2
My Presario 2197 notebook has a DVD ROM (TEAC DW-224E-A) with 8x read
speed. I used to be able to copy DVDs to an external DVD writer
(connected by Firewire) at 8x using Nero and DVD-Rs.
Since a couple of months ago, its read speed has droped to half. I have

 Where does the Microsoft Fingerprint Reader with Digital Persona store the
login information?  I would like to move my reader to another computer.  Is
it possible to move the login information or will I have to reprogram
everything?

I just bought the MS Keyboard with Fingerprint Reader. It works fine
logging into Windows XP. But, it's supposed to work for visiting Web
sites that require login. And, it doesn't. I can't even get it set up
for any website I've gone to yet. Any one with suggestions?

Recently my PC conked out due to what seemed to be a power failure
caused by a fuse going in the power adaptor plug.
Upon fixing that and re-starting the PC, I saw that my screen

I tried the upgrade check program already, it didn't show any possibl
problems.

I have installed a Belkin USB 2.0 PCI card in my box (pc only had 1.1 on
the board).  I have an external WD hard drive that is USB 2.0.  When I
plug the hard drive into the USB 2.0 port I get a dialog box that says

We have a machine that has 4 CPU's and need to know from the OS if they are
