Maybe this is a very dumb question, but my sata drive (the only hdd in
the system) is showing up under 'primary ide channel' of my 'standard
dual channel pci ide controller'.

I'm helping out a friend who's XP pro computer died.
I organised a new box for him, but I thought he had XP Home, so the
dealer installed XP Home.  I just got it back to my place and booted it
up and tried to enter his Product Code, but it would not accept it.

i have reformatted my computer and the dvd drives have changed names,

I have installed a second hard drive in to my system i have connected etc,

Running HP Pavillion P41.3 GHz. I upgraded from Windows ME to
Windows XP home last week.  Everything was great, but a little slow.  I

I have a printer with a built in card reader which shos up as one drive even
when there's no memory card in it. Its origianal name was removable disk (F:)
but I renamed it to RX420 CRead (RX420 being the name of the printer and
CRead meaning card reader because card reader didnt ...

I have a sound card that is built into my motherboard.
All drivers have been installed and are recognized in the
Device Manager. However, when ANY type of music is
attempting to play, I get an error message. This message

EMPREX 1016UI (aka BTC 1016UI) USB external dual layer DVD writer was
installed on PC fine.
Suddenly, after about a month, it asked to install a driver (never needed
before).

I am using a pc with 933mghz processor, when I am playing sound, from any
source such as cd or an email, if I drag the scroll bar down or up it
distorts the sound. What could be the problem.

My problem are, i can`t read cd-rom or cd music (in explorer it can not se
it is a cd in) , only DVD film and DVD-data. And i cant burn enything, when
it don`t find any cd-r or dvd+-R
In secure mode i can read all type of cd/dvd.

i have an artec 12x dvd+/-RW drive and when after i installed it, it will
burn info to the cds and dvds most of the time without failing. however when
i later go back to read the information from them on any drive in any of my
computers i can't retrieve the info. most of the time ...

I replaced motherboard and processor and added SATA drives.  Whe
installing new os, got titled error message.  How do I correct

I've got a new Maxtor DiamondMax 10 200 GB SATA hard drive, model
6B200MO, and I want to use it as an additional drive in my PC. I don't
want to make it my bootable drive. I already have Windows XP Home newly
