Today I bought a "Microsoft Optical Desktop with Fingerprint Reader", and it
seems like the volume +/- hot keys aren't working. Any one been thru this??

This isn't a big deal, but I'm curious if anyone knows where I might look to
solve this problem.  I get a beep tone on my Dell during the boot process,
and before the Windows XP splash screen I see a message that says "Processor
fan not detected."  

I recently installed a new hard drive in my computer.  I wanted to restore
some data from the old hard drive, but when I hooked it up, the system says

I have Windows XP Service Pack 2 machine with two COM ports (COM1 is
built-in and COM2 is an PCI serial card). Every time I try to startup an
