Incorrect hardware description15 Aug 2005 18:43 GMT4
In the computer browser or Windows Explorer the description for my floppy
drive is "5¼ Floppy". All I've ever had in it is a 3.5. I know I can rename
it, but why is it automatically labelling it as "5¼ Floppy"? I've uninstalled
it and let Windows re-detect it, but still the same ...
Intellipoint 5.0 - missing options for programmed buttons15 Aug 2005 17:59 GMT3
Intellipoint 5.0 does not allow me the option of programming the
wheel-button as "last window" (ALT+TAB). Instead it offers "next window",
which steps through every open window. I need to toggle between the last two
windows. (I see that "backspace" is also missing).

My USB ports are not working properly.15 Aug 2005 04:06 GMT2
I recently purchased a USB DVD burner.  All of a sudden, my USB ports are not
functioning properly.  I have 3 ports on my laptop, and have tried all of
them.  Also, my mouse works, but only if it is plugged in when I start my
computer.  If it is unplugged, and then plugged back ...
how to check S.M.A.R.T.?15 Aug 2005 03:16 GMT9
I've had a S.M.A.R.T warning for over a year now (disc about to fail,
replace immediately) but have (foolishly?) ignored it - reducing the data to
irrelevant, and waiting amusedly until it failed.
Since it hasn't, I wondered if I might "retrieve" it for real work. What
