if left idle for extended time actual drive is off- drawer refuses to open..

I was just wondering what a "normal" amount of running threads at one
time is in windows XP. On my computer its normally around 400 (i check
with ctrl-alt-delete). that seems a little excessivly high. can anyone
tell me what it should be around or at least what its like on their

I have installed a new physical hard disk on my computer running Windows XP pro
afterwards I 've made as one logical drive contains three extended
partitions. However, the first partition refused to be formated as FAT32,

I just purchased a Samsung Hard Drive which is 160 GB. Windows XP
states the capacity of the drive is about 32 GB. Why can Windows not
see the entire drive? I looked in Disk Management and it is the same.
During Windows setup it is the same. Also, using Partition Magic 8.0 it

I have a hard drive that I am trying to backup becasue it is going bad. I
can't seem to get all the way through an XPbackup which is 11gb.  I ran
chkdsk/f/r and the following error at step 4:

I would like to convert from FAT 32 to NTFS and I tried my command prompt and
the conversion would not work after the system restart the reason: saying
insufficient memory.  Is there another way to convert without losing any
files?  thank you

All of my extra USB Ports (F through I) and my floppy a drive won't work
anymore.  
Haven't loaded anything new.  When trying to access the floppy disk drive,
or use my flash drive in a USB port, I get this message:

When I first built my computer, Windows 2000, I had a SCSI board and used a
SCSI CDROM drive and a SCSI Scanner.
When I rebuilt the computer and was ready to install Windows XP SP2, I
removed the SCSI card, the CDROM and Scanner.  I'm now using  IDE ATA /
