i have a P3 that runs a dual boot....i run windows 2000 and windows xp but when i start up windows 2000 everything works perfect...all hardware works and all harddrives work.but when i startup XP it gets to the XP loading page then goes to a blue screen saying hardware ...

it may sound silly to ask this question. i do not know if this is the right place to post this question. maybe you can direct me if needed. this is a PIV 2.4Ghz, GA-81r2300 motherbord with hyperthreading capabilities, 40GB HD, AGP graphic Card, 256MB memory.

None of my USB ports are working. I believe that it was the cause of a thunderstorm. I already uninstalled all drivers and ports in the device manager and let windows reinstall them, and still none of my hardware is recognized, not even my mouse. All drivers seem to be installed ...

For some strange reasons, I am struggling to remove the faulty floppy drive from the PC. The case type is ATX Midi and it should just slide out from the front when one screw is removed. What else is likely to stop it from sliding out?

Every time I plug my jump drive (USB drive) in, windows pops up and tells me it could perform faster, but my laptop doesn't have any faster USB port. Is there a way to stop this annoying pop up? I'm using XP Professional on a laptop.

I added a generic PCI card to my SOYO P4i865 mobo running under XPPro. This card is not working nor is it showing up in Device Manger. The onboard USB is working fine. I've checked the BIOS and all the appropriate devices are enabled.

The cd-rw looks like burn a blank disk, perharps when I want watch the files copied the system shows "this is a blank disc" but the files are copied. what can I do? The cd-rw doesn't work? do I need to reinstall the drives? Thanks for your time and help.
