Situation:
I have a Dell 2300 with XP SP2 operating system.  There is a 40G boot drive
in the chassis (which only has space for one drive).  I also have a 80G WD
drive in a USB  enclosure.  I recently purchased a Seagate 200G drive.

I have a 2GB SD card that I connect to Win XP via a USB 2.0 card reader.  It

Hi, first time poster here.

unknown reason, when i insert a cd/game/dvd the cd spins and the drive lights

I connected a portable external 40 gig hard drive to my dell laptop with
windows XP.  The computer does not recognise the drive.  I have deleted and
added the drivers, re installed XP, followed the trouble shooting guide
provided by segate, all to no avail. Can anyone help?
