Situation: I have a Dell 2300 with XP SP2 operating system. There is a 40G boot drive in the chassis (which only has space for one drive). I also have a 80G WD drive in a USB enclosure. I recently purchased a Seagate 200G drive.

Shortly after recieving my Dell Computer, upon boot up, the lite on my CD Drive (top or #1 bay) will go off unless I cycle the drive.

please help, my cd dvd drives stopped reading about two weeks ago for some unknown reason, when i insert a cd/game/dvd the cd spins and the drive lights up as usual but then it stops, and when i try to open the drive on my computer it says "please insert disc" whats happened?

I want to add a REV drive to my server. They offer both SCSI and SATA. Is one better than the other? If I just get the SCSI will I be safe? How do I tell if my machine is usuing SATA? Thanks

I connected a portable external 40 gig hard drive to my dell laptop with windows XP. The computer does not recognise the drive. I have deleted and added the drivers, re installed XP, followed the trouble shooting guide provided by segate, all to no avail. Can anyone help?
