I have a problem and just cannot seem to find an answer anywhere to why this
may be happening.
The problem is with the onboard usb ports.  I boot the pc to windows (XP
SP2) as normal but this can only be done without any usb devices plugged in.

My main drive is a SATA drive which is partitioned into drive C and D. C
being the OS boot drive and D is just for data. I also have an IDE drive
that I use for backups. In Disk Management, the SATA drive (C & D) is Disk 1
while the IDE drive is Disk 0.
