The basic situation; a Windows XP (SP2) machine with USB 1.1 ports on
the motherboard which has been running fine ever since new. We've now
decided to fit an Essential PCI 4 Port USB 2.0 card. ("Essential" is
the maker, incidentally.)

I have a laptop Toshiba S1900-102 and I want to install new system and
format partition. I change proporties in BIOS for booting from a CDRom,
CD with XP is bootable. My laptop doesn't boot CDs he by-passes CD and
starts from hardware. If there are any options beyond seting  in BIOS

Generic external USB2 HD casing with Seagate 28.5 Gb HD in it. Windows
automatically recognizes it no problem. i can view files. i created

I am having the same Problem. I get to 7/8 steps & then I reveive a
message that the hardware cannot be installed. I treid removing it &
copying the halaacpi.dll to the Windows32 dir as well as reinstlling
windows installer.

I have alot of old power supplies sitting around. Is there anything I could
do to recharge them or switch out something on the inside to give it power
again??? If not, is there anywhere that anybody knows of where I can send

I am having a hardware related problem (I am assuming).  I have this DELL
system which is 2 years old.  Sometimes when trying to power on I get
nothing.  Then after the power supply is plugged in for a while it flickers

3.0 ghz, XP OEM SP2, Premiere Pro. Maxtor HD, XFX Nvidia GeForce 6600GT, and
