I just purchased a new IBM/Hitachi USB 2.0 external 120GB hard drive. Using WindowsXP disk management, I've successfully partitioned the drive into two partitions. Using disk management I'm trying to format the partitions in NTSF, however, it is painfully slow. One partition

My hdd crashed. Wont boot windows. How do I recover data from the HDD? It is a dell laptop. Can I use another laptop? Is there a boot CD somewhere that can fix this?

I just purchased an Averatec 3250 notebook 3 weeks ago. From the time I got it, I've experienced some type of infrequent reboot for no reason. It has gotten worse lately with "parser" error messages and the 30 second countdown before my computer shuts down.

I have just brought a lap top with windows xp. I formated a CD with UDF and copied some files to it. When I open the files they are Read only. And when I want to read the files on my old laptop with windows 98 the CD appears blank. How can I copy files to the CD on windows xp

I have a Dell Inspiron 1100 with a combo CD-RW/DVD drive. The drive can read DVD's but cannot read or write to CD's! Have I messed something up? WindowsXP shows no driver or hardware problems in Device Manager.
