merge partitions05 Nov 2005 13:55 GMT9
I have an 80GB hard disk with 6 partitions of about 13GB each. I want
to merge two of the partitions. I know it can be done using third party
software such as PartitionMagic, but I don't have it. The two
partitions which I want to merge don't have any data (i.e. I can afford
External drive mounts as USB1.1 instead of 2.0 -- what happened?05 Nov 2005 06:27 GMT4
I've got an external drive in a Bytecc enclosure. I connect it to my IBM
Thinkpad using USB 2.0 -- or at least I used to. Now, about 70% of the time,
when I connect it Windows tells me the drive could perform faster if I plug
it into a USB 2.0 port. I only have USB 2.0 ports!

My monitor will not work when I install DVD-RW drive05 Nov 2005 00:55 GMT13
I posted something similar to this a while back, but I confused it by
mentioning other things which I have now eliminated. I have boiled it
all down to this: If I install my new DWD-RW drive (in the slot where I
had a plain DVD-R), my monitor stops working. If I take the new drive

Also found out that Google has some stuff to say about it.

Changing Mobo/CPU, want to keep current install04 Nov 2005 21:14 GMT8
I'm planning to upgrade both my mobo and cpu, and am worried about keeping my
current XP Pro installation.  I have a legal copy(I assume - it's been
correctly activated), but my OEM was a little shady and I never got a CD or
COA or anything of the sort (although I'm working on ...

Keyboard replacement on Compaq Presario R3000 (not working now) =.....04 Nov 2005 17:42 GMT1
Equals a big fat zero.  LOL (well, not really)
I just swapped out a bad keyboard out of my Presario R32##CL laptop.
I put it in, and presto!   The laptop would not fire, either pressing
the button (when I put the cover back on, or if I attempted to turn it
Hardware Wizard can't find drivers for USB devices04 Nov 2005 16:50 GMT5
I'm having trouble installing a USB printer and flash drive.  Whenever I
connect anything to a USB port the Found New Hardware Wizard pops up but can
never find the drivers for it.
I didn't think a generic flash drive needed special drivers for XP, but it

Recording Two Simultaneous Inputs04 Nov 2005 08:23 GMT1
I was wondering how I could record from two microphones simultaneously on my

I have a NTFS drive which was my data drive.  I went to reinstall
