I just purchased a new Hitachi 2.5" IDE HDD external 40GB hard drive with a USB 2.0 portable, (and I'm using Windows XP.) When I turned on my laptop, the hard drive does not work at all. All I heard is the "clicking" sound. It keeps clicking ... clicking ... clicking ....

Anyone know what this means? The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000004e (0x00000007, 0x000066b0, 0x00012a01, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini112705-01.dmp.
