I have this weird sound that is in the background all the time as long as the volume is turned up. I tried to do mute all but the sound is still there. I can't listen to music without the buuuueeeeeiiiiiiiip noise there!

I have a multipartitioned system with XP Pro, RedHat Linux and OS2 Ecomstation along with an exchange data partition. Running out of space for the XP partition and don't use the RedHat or OS2 partitions anyhow.

Just out of interest: When I'm backing up my computer to DVDs, my DVD drive takes a while to burn the disk, like several minutes. Doesn't this build up lots of heat inside my computer, which might be harmful? I don't want a disc-o inferno on my hands. And what happens to all that ...

I am unable to disable my touchpad on my laptop...obviously. I read in the owner's manual to go into "printers and other hardware" then "mouse" and then to choose the "touch pad" tab and adjust the settings there. But, when I go into the mouse file, there is no "touch pad" tab. ...
