I recently bought a new machine. It's meant to have a combo CD/DVD drive, but I can't play DVDs -- either films or data DVDs. Is there a simple way to find out if it is indeed a combo drive? If I look in device manager, and click on DVD/CD-ROM drives, it lists:

My modem works fine with SP1. After installing SP2 the modem disappears from the device manager. It cannot be detected by the add hardware wizard. I have tried 2 different modems, both function correctly with SP1. Restoring back to SP1 restores the functionality of the modem. ...

As soon as I installed my 320 gig Wes.Digital, it showed in Computer Management as being only 298gig. After I formatted and assigned it a letter, it still showed 298 gig. So where did the 22 gig go? Thanks!
