Crucial RAM from Crucial or NewEgg?02 Dec 2005 20:51 GMT11
This memory module CT32M64S4D7E is available from Crucial directly for
$68.39 (on sale) and from NewEgg for $57.00. NewEgg lists it as OEM.
What makes a memory module OEM anyway? Is this the same exact module?
Any reason not to get it from NewEgg and save $?
Mouse Freezes, Recovers During CD access02 Dec 2005 20:02 GMT1
I'm running XP SP2.  My PC has an IDE 52x CD/RW drive.
With just one particular CD that everyone else in the office can read
fine, my mouse freezes for a couple minutes at a time, but then
recovers.  That is, the computer doesn't crash (not right away), but
Building a PC II02 Dec 2005 19:07 GMT14
Ok, gang, I have come up with a web-surfin' granny type PC I want to sell.
With taxes and shipping in my area, it comes to $267. And that is no OS,
keyboard, speakers or mouse. Obviously adding XP would add another $100. I
was thinking about adding a free Linux based OS.

My printer works fine, but every time I use it the wizzard recognizes it as

Best Dell Hardware for Software Development Team (Asp.Net & MS SQL 2K)02 Dec 2005 17:06 GMT8
We have five developers that we need to upgrade to newer faster boxes.
We have chosen Dell because they seem to offer and good
price/performance/support equation.  I have historically purchased 1 yr
old processing power as it is usually good enough.  I just had a recent

burning cds and dvds02 Dec 2005 16:07 GMT5
I have seen earlier postings on this subject on this newsgroup and there
appear to be very narrow specifications for the co-existence of different
packages for burning and the type and brand of media used for burning. But I
also find that Sonic's MyDVD 5 which came along with my ...
