Before anyone dismisses me, please understand that I've searched the web
for answers and am still not sure how to solve my problem.  I am new to
using external peripherals with my laptop, so my knowledge is somewhat
limited.  I am not, however, computer illiterate.

A couple months ago, I evacuated from New Orleans and left my computer
upstairs in a closet...
It stayed in that closet for about 2 months until I was able to come back
down and salvage things from the home..

When I open my Device Manager, there is no hardware listed there. It just
shows an empty space.........
Is there a virus causing this???

hey guy's. i've aquired a computer which has no hardrive but i have an old
one in the cupboard, it already has winxp installed on it which i'm not to
bothered about. i guess when i hook up this hardrive to the aquired computer
it wont work straight off?. so how do i wipe it and ...

We have replaced our server recently and was wondering if someone could point
me in a direction to convert the Windows NT Raid 5 server to an Windows XP
workstation as it would be good to put it to use. In trying to install XP, it
just sees the existing server. Any suggestions ...

I have just started having problems with my laptop in as much as it fails to
power on past the BIOS stage it just stops right at the end of power up. Up
until now i have got around the problem by taking out the battery and
powering up the laptop with just the mains power attached ...

If I insert my USB flash drive into any of my 4 USB 2 port it registers fine
under the system components bu I am unable to actualy browse the USB...
I have tried other computers and my flash drive works fine, and I have tried
to connect another flash drive to my PC and still ...

erm how do i do this??? i've done it once before ages ago
but i've forgotten how to do it.

anybody know how to recover lost files. i lost my keyboarding files somehow.
the ones for xp not the drivers.  if i go to the device manager, it does'nt
show a keyboard icon. i now am typing with the on screen keyboard in
acceories.

I just lost the Logitech USB Wireless Mouse receiver, the mouse doesn't work
without the receiver. It's about 1 year old, is it possible to replace it
somehow?

I have Combo TEAC DW-548D. Most audio CD's and some video CD's it reads
without a problem but most video CD' it does not read. When burning
through winxp default burner, it shows that it is burning and at the
end it says that the burning was successfull but actually nothing

when I reboot or start up my laptop I am getting an error message that my
VCClient.exe is not functioning properly & that I should click OK to
terminate the program.  Can you please tell me what this is & what I need to
do to correct it if it is an issue?

I have a Toshiba Satellite A30 Laptop and i am having a problem with the dvd
rom drive, i will not recognise any media i put in to it, i've checked the
device manager and it shows the drive as working ok, i've also uninstalled
the drivers and reinstalled but still the same. HELP ...

My OS is Windows XP, my printer is an HP Laserjet 1100A, my computer has 512
MB of memory, there is gigabytes of unused space on my hard drive, and my
CPU is running at 1.8 GHZ.
My printer always works just fine except when I try to print to both sides.

Why is it that everytime I'm on the net there is a black box where I'm
typing? I've went thru my mouse setting, updated the software and drivers,
and it's driving me crazy. Please tell me what to do to get rid of this thing!
