I have a self powered usb 2.0 hub that works in my older computer, winxp
machine.  If I plug it into any usb 2.0 port in my new computer, winxp, I
get a BSOD.  Connected it back to my old computer....works fine.   Other usb
2.0 devices function normally in my new computer.  Weird ...

I have a BlueTooth USB dongle attached which is recognised by the supplied
software, and XP.

Hey, my DVD Burner wasn't working, so I went to a Microsoft support page
to figure out how to fix my DMA (I was able to diagnose that the DMA was
set wrong). One of the steps was to 'toggle' the DMA by turning all of
the settings to PIO Only (or something like that), so I did that,

has XP Home Edition SP2 so that I can use all free space on the computer for
the C: drive.  The hard drive had previously been partitioned into two

My DVD player, "ASUS DVD-Romanian E616" worked fine until the day when it
refused to read and to detect any DVDs.
It is still reading CDs without any problem but nothing to do for the DVDs.

We have the new Intel Dual Core Dell GX620, but we imaged the pc with our
older non dual core cpu's. How can we tell XP that there is now multiple
proccessors on the desktop? I know it has something to do with hal, but I am
lost for how to change the settings.
