I just installed a drive that's been fine in another machine. The bios
sees it fine as a slave drive, but XP won't, not even in the disk
manager.
Any ideas?

I just fitted a Linksys adsl modem/router and there's no on/off switch on
it.  I have its' transformer plugged into a "low profile" Belkin surge
suppressor on which my monitor sits, so I have a conveniently located power
button in front of me to simply power it off.

When I switched on my pc this AM it blow main plug fuse during start up.I
replaced fuse and same occured.I suppose it a hardware problem but what the
most likely culprit?I can disconnect the rom drives,floppy and second hard
drive.Is there something elso I should disconnect ...

I have my system with XPPRO, while I am importing data from my DVD
(LightScribe Drive) but using the CD normally the system suddenly reports
that cannot read from the dics, Looked in the explorer and drives were gone.
I checked in the windows event I saw the follow line:

Until today I have been able to remove the HP ZE2000 touchpad drivers so as
to uninstall the hardware,  I reinstalled XP and cannot keep the drivers
uninstalled.  Can anyone either tell me how to disconnect the touchpad or
uninstall it now?

I just went to System restore to check that SR was turned off for this drive
(Maxtor 200gb 1-Touch ll USB) and it says that the drive is offline...weird.
I can access my backup files on it with no problem.
Never seen this before.

I've googled groups and found a lot of same question, never an answer (that

Computer 1 was a Win2K machine with 2 HDD.  Removed the slave as it was
awfully noisy and didn't trust it.
