I have developed a problem with my USB 2 devices. PC will recognise devices as USB 1.1 but as soon as I load USB 2 drivers (from m/board CD) they're not recognised. I have even reformatted Hard drive and checked BIOS settings

XP home SP2. I've recently upgraded to a 64bit processor. When I enter my password at the logon screen, sometimes my screen will go blank and slowly drain of all colour leaving a milky white appearance. Aprat from this the machine runs fine and the affect is very ad-hoc.

I need some help. I have Windows XP and a Lacie external DVD RW burner. Was working fine until a couple of days ago - now its not. When trying to burn a home movie I got a first error: 'disc burnt but with errors'.

Is there any way to turn off my usb so when people put a usb stick in the computer it won't recognize it and won' t show a usb stick on my computer. I still want windows to recognize my printer etc though. Ideas/suggestions?

Okay so I got this external hard drive which worked when I first plugged it in to this Laptop. Then out of nowhere it gets disconnected. I unplug and plug it back in.. now it recognizes it as an " Unknown Device ".

I have a drx-810ul from sony running XP. Anytime I put a disk in the drive the drive changes from dvd rw to cd drive in my computer. Obviously dvd's dont work. any help!!!

I have a Sony DVD+-RW drive. I can record and watch DVD's on a DVD-R with no problem. I can also record and play CD's with no problem with a CD-R or CD-RW. If I put a DVD into the drive it shows DVD next to the drive letter. If I put in a DVD-RW explorer shows CD next to the drive

My hard drive is continually active even when I'm not doing anything on the computer. It's like it's contantly indexing. Is there any setting I can click to turn this off in XP SP2. Even as I'm writing this message, the hard drive is constantly churping like an annoying budgie. ...

I have a Brother 1650N network laser printer connected physically to my "local PC" via the Ethernet port to my Linksys WRT54G router. My IP address for the LAN is 192.168.0.30 for the "local PC". For the Brother printer, its on 192.168.0.11.
