I have a Compaq 40/80 GB Tape drive, while the BIOS sees it on POST, Windows XP ignores it completely. My SCSI controller is recognised, in both Windows XP and boot. I have down loaded drivers from HP, although HP HCL states that the drive is support by Windows XP.

Hello, I recently bought a Maxtor 160 GB SATAII hard drive. It's been a week since I got it and I was using it happily as a storage drive. I have and use a 60 GB IDE drive as my master (paritioned into two parts, C: and D:) on which I run Windows XP SP2.

I upgraded my original 128 with a crucial-provided 256.....from there it was cheaper to go with Fry's to 512 when i put in the 512 and turn it on nothing happens. at all. the 256 works just fine. also, i'm wanting to use both the 256 and the 512 in the SODIMM

I am no hardware expert, as you will soon observe. Turned on one of my computers this morning and it would not boot. It had been working fine the previous day, with no changes. The hard drive was not even detected in the BIOS, although the cdrom was.
