I am trying to help a friend get their wireless back up and protected. The have a Aopen AOI-908 wireless router. It indicates in the manual the length of a WEP128 key needs to be 13. It also indicates that it needs to be in the format of xx-xx-xx-xx... for Hex.

I read somewhere that you can use Windows XP Pro to make a software mirror of IDE Hard Drives. Does anyone know how to do this?

I just reinstalled a clean XP Pro on my machine. When I try to make a manual LAN connettion in My Network Places, it doen't allow me to. So, I check Device Manager and saw that under Other Decives, my Ethernet Controller, MultiMedia Controller, Video Controller all have yellow

Would someone know how to make sure that a driver of for example a device "A" is a built-in WINXP Pro driver or if to install that driver vendor-supplied drivers are necessary? I am looking for such a list that would enable me to make sure that my PCs'

I turned my laptop on and there was a white and black vertical 1 inch block going down the screen. I'm able to use all the functions, but it's frustrating because I can't see anything behind it. How can I fix this? THanks

I am looking for an optical mouse and I would just as soon not use one of my 4 USB ports (3 since the printer takes up one), so am looking for one slotting into a PS/2. Is there any benefit in particular to using the PS/2 or the USB?

Are there any tweaks that can be made to either Windows XP or router configuration to improve the performance of a broadband connection? There are plenty of utils that change things like MTU and TTL but do they really make any difference?

I have a Sony Vaio PCG-V505 laptop.(Celeron 1.8 *NOT* M, so small cache) It has a 40gb internal harddrive with a dirty windowsxp (school projects). I bought a external usb2.0 & firewire enclosure and have put one 5400rpm 120gb harddrive. I think (not sure) that i can boot off it

I just purchased one of the sony slim line dvd/cdr(w) drives. Unfortunately, though, it was too slim. are there any adapters/enclusures that can convert a slim line drive to one of the bigger notebook drives? If this is OT for this group, please direct me to a place to which this ...

After start up the audio device is on but then at some point it shuts down. I get no sound. The device manager says the device is "working properly" and won't let me start it up per se. Any advice? THANKS!
