I'm cleaning and backing up my HDD's and noticed this directory in C:\
(C:\found.000\dir0000.chk with the contents System.Design.dll AND
__AssemblyInfo__.ini which I assume is from Visual studio or Visual Web
Developer).

XP Home updated to SP2.  I've just taken on a USB2 External HDD which I
(foolishly) reformatted from FAT32 to NTFS. I can read from the drive as any
user, but I can only write to it when logged on as administrator: when using
my own User Identity I get a "write-protected" message ...

When XP Boots, it assigns virtual ports to devices starting with 1 (I think)

i've just had a network problem with my router (not from a virus, i manually

have windows xp pro sp2 plus all the lastest updates
the problem is can't burn disc to the cd rw, it says its not an cd-rw, can
burn using windows inbuilt support or by using hotburn pro (iomega app)

This is my problem, hope some could afford and help me solving it.
I have a Toshiba satellite pro 4600, now i have changed the TEAC cd rom with
a new Samsung CD ROM DVD drive but windows XP seems not to recognise it.

I have Toshiba Laptop model 2805-S603  with  DVD-ROM/CDRW  combo drive
model SD-R2002.
It was working good but after I reinstalled WinXP Pro it no longer reads
CD-R and CD-RW. It can read DVDs

Had this problem before about a month ago and formatted my hard drive and
started again.  I have been using the system for the past month with no
problems but yesterday after booting up the system the following happend
again:

I recently added a 300GB IDE drive to my  XP system. It has an existing SATA
drive in it. The new IDE works fine, but it shows up in the Safely Remove
Hardware icon in the taskbar as a removable drive. There is no check box to
uncheck as in Win98 (or at least I can't find it). ...
