......i installed Power DVD in my cpu and have the hardware installed in the PC but i still don't see it shown up in "My Computer". the dvd drive opens and closes and the green light flashes but i still don't see it anywhere in "My Computer" so therefore the dvd's don't work.

Have just installed Windows XP Pro and all seems to work properly except no sound is heard from any source. Computer is IBM 2140 L31. The sound recorder is apparently recording OK. CDs do not play and video online is silent. No inputs are muted and vol is set to max.
