My computer has an ATA 100 controller. Would an ATA 133 Maxtor hard drive be

Note:  My main installation drive is a single 300GB SATA drive on it's own.
No RAID on that one, no nothing.

When I use my external HDD 250GB USB 2.0 and plug it into my IBM
Thinkpad T41
the HDD is almostr always detected as USB 1.1 and is placed in the USB

All of a sudden, my computer won't recognise any audio CDs. I can play

Ok fellas,
    I enabled 2.0 in the BIOS.  In one of the entries.  Then my mouse
quit using its proprietary driver and reverted to the Windows XP
driver.  I want the proprietary driver 'cuz I got me a fancy mouse.

    One selection was whether to allow Legacy USB 1.1 to be enabled.

My computer was put together by a local shop in a city I used to live
in, about 4 years ago.  The fellow told me I had USB 2.0 ports, but
that MS hadn't released the drivers yet.  
I'm buying some USB 2.0 peripherals now, and must have the USB 2.0
