I have a Sony vaio with a Matshita UJ-810 DVD-RW drive, it does all, it
ereases DVD-RW and writes on them as well, will read DVD movies and DVD-R
(non blanks).

I have NERO which reconizes the DVD-rw drive
DVDshrink and DVDFab do not reconize drive at all

On my XP Pro box, I use a Dell D1626HT.  I adjust the refresh rate from 60
hz to 85 Hz and it does stick on applying.  ( I can't see the flicker go
away, but others with better eyes can. )
