I don't want to disable the touchpad in case I'm some place and forgot

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with 3 USB ports. When I connect a Brother
MFC-7220 to one of them, the MFC cannot print. If I connect it to either the
other two, it works fine. Under device manager one of the USB comes out as
Unknown device. What could be the problem?

I just installed  a new hard drive and switched all my files and OS to the
new drive adn I am using the old one as storage. I am wondering if I need to

I recently updated my processor to one that supports Hyper-Threading.  While
at times, I get better performance/speed and improved startup times as a
result, I also have times where processes hang for a while, and in a few rare
cases, crash and the system restarts.

Can someone recommend a good notebook computer to run Linux on ?  Is
pre-bundled the way to go (because of hw compatibility issues) ?

I need a "well made" keyboard, I am thinking waterproof or at least spill proof,
and aluminum keys and shell, and light weight. I don't care about massive amounts
of 'feature buttons' or dynamic looks or natural style for typing, something well
built that will last.  Any company ...

In a nutshell I have a Year 2004 Hewlett Packard PC running on 230V.  It
doesn't have a switch in the back to switch to 120; Nor does the power supply
on it's shell indicate that the PC will work on anything but ...

I plug it in, but it gets recognized as a PS2 mouse?  The USB mouse
already attached still works, but I can't get the MS kb recognized as
such, and can't find a driver for it that might help.  Any suggestions?

I already have HAD installed on my 120GB EIDE Seagate which I got from the
Seagate website and seems to work pretty good. My question is: Is there HAD
software for virtually all newer EIDE drives nowdays, and is this software
also available for the newer SATA drives? Just in case ...

Honestly, I don't know which connection I have or how to figure it out and
change it.

We put a bunch of computers into a large trade school, and we're getting
back DDR400 dimms with pins 184 and 181 burned off. We think these are being
