When loading a blank disc for burning, Windows Explorer tells me:- 'D:\ is not accessible. Incorrect function' The drive will happily play a video CD or DVD but does not like blank discs. Does anyone have a cure for this problem?

Hi, I've been beating my head against the wall trying to get this new DVD burner to work on a XP Pro SP2 system. Actually, two systems. One is a Dell Inspiron 8200 and the other a Dell Inspiron 8600. The results are the same on both computers.

Windows XP failed to boot, tried to reinstall windows. After getting to 100 %. windows said it could not format the drive. Tried another hard drive, same exact thing. Tried a third drive, same thing again. I changed the ide cable, also.

I just built a new machine (64-bit Sempron and MSI K8MM-V motherboard). Everything SEEMED fine...installed OS, etc and had no problems. UNTIL I FIRST inserted my USB-memory-stick into the 'front-port' USB socket!

Hi, hope someone can help me...I notice other people have lost there CD Rom also but afraid mine does not fix itself after rebooting. It does not show up at all in my device manager..no ! marks anywhere. How do you reinstall it when you are unable to access the cdrom/dvd player?
