I added 2 more GB of ram to my machine for a total of 4GB, because I wanted to use a rather large ramdrive to take of some load from harddrives, not to mantion the speed increase I would get. When I booted the machine up memory test shows the correct amount, 4GB. But

Help! Dell INspiron 600m just crashed. I manually stopped it by holding down the power button because it seemed locked up (too many programs running, and memory going down--stupid, stupid, I know!). Now when I start it up, I get the black screen with several options

ok, be gentle... I cannot get my CD Burner to burn (interesting noises but it spits out the CD and tells me there is an error...and yes, I made sure it was writeable ;-).
