I received a new maxtor hard drive. I disconnected a data drive and connected
the new drive to the cable it to check it out. When i booted up, the new
drive came up in place of my data drive but had only a recycle folders and

I have an emachines 370 that has stopped working. When I turn the power on
at the wall the light around the on/off button flickers constantly but the
computer will not start up at all. I have the side of and the CPU fan is
spinning and I have changed the Power Unit so this is OK. ...

I have an IBM P96 (plug-and-pay) monitor, that I run at 85Hz refresh rate.  
About every third or fourth time I restart, the monitor changes to Default
Monitor, with a refresh rate of 60Hz.  I then have to go into "Find New
Hardware", when Windows immediately decides it's a PnP ...

I get no sound from my speakers.
What I think happened is that I accidentaly deleted SoundMAX (under
Software) while going through the junk I had installed on my computer.
Unfortunately, this resulted in a lack of sound from my computer, even though

I  have a 20G external hard drive that I deleted the 2 partitions, now I
can't get my system to see it and following  Microsofts partition program is
of no help.  I could really use some help in using the new FDisk program on
XP so I can download files to the drive.

I've got a webcam (model Manhattan Fun!Cam) and problem with correct drivers
installation. Windows detect this device as a 'USB Device' and now I can't
change drivers. In spite of correct drivers are installed (from Manhattan's

I am trying to install a PCI USB2 card with a VIA chipset on my old
Asus P2-99 P3 550 system but when I have the card in any of the
available PCI slots, the system will not boot. There is power but the
screen stays on standby and the system doesn't do anything (no beeps or

I have a Dell GX280 3.2 which was running fun until I was doing some
sound editing on it and the sound became choppy so I restarted the
computer and it would not load it said there was no drive available or
something like that.

i haven't found anything on this using the search function.
From what i heard Microsoft licenses Windows XP based on sockets not cores,
however i was hard pressed to find information on this on the MS website.
Does Windows XP support all available CPUs (and virtual CPUs) available ...

hi guy's wondering if any one can help.i have at present a nvidia
gigabyte 6800gs ddr3 256mb pci-e card and running fs2004,the sys was

My laptop has a memory card reader, which I use to read my camera's xD
cards. Up until recently it worked just fine, but now it won't let me do
a safe removal.

while loading upgrades I lost power to my laptop. I can't locate my
startup disk and all I get when I turn the computer on is NTLDR
missing. Is there anything I can do short of repurchasing a startup
disc? My concern is losing all the files I had on the computer. Please
