I believe I have a motherboard w/ a damaged video chipset. The system
is a Dell OptiPlex GX270. Starting about a week ago, despite the fact
that no new software or hardware was added, it started to randomly
crash. The behavior of the crash is odd, in that the video signal

I'm trying to create a bootable CD using Bart's PE Builder and
everything seems fine except that it reports that viasraid.sys is
missing. Trying to add this driver, I can find the files viasraid.cat,
viasraid.inf, viasraid.pnf and viasraid.sys on my hard disk but not the

I am trying to find a way to enable and disable a device automatically
depending on if a program is running.  For example, I would like to
disable the network card while the calculator is running.  I would
hope to find an API call or similar to do this.

Our users are leaving USB drives in their machines then logging out and in
again. When their logon script runs they should get a network share mapped to
say G: however XP has already assigned the drive letter to the removable
drive so they can't see the share. To avoid conflicts ...

I have a Medion computer with a Pioneer DVR-106D DVD-RW. In Windows
Explorer it shows up as "DVD-RW Drive" as it should... until I put a
DVD-R in the drive. Then it switches to "CD Drive" in Windows Explorer,
and I am unable to burn anything to it.

I am running XP PRO with all latest MS updates.  My 1 Gb flash drive works in
other systems but not this one.  When inserted it will show up in Device
Manager, but not in Explorer or Disk Manager.  I have tested the USB ports
with other devices and all works fine.  What can I do ...
