My computer can not read a HDD that is inside a portable media player.  The
HDD is new and is probably unformatted.  I cannot format it while it is in

Have a Sony with XP Home installed. No disc, just hidden partition or something.
I would like to change a DVD Player to a DVD-RW which has better specs. Would doing this get me into
a heap of trouble?

I recently screwed up and accidentally plugged a power supply for an

I cannot read data from my CD drive.  I can write to it using burner software
but cannot read any data from it.  In safe mode I can read from it, so the
drive itself is ok.  Device Manager shows it is working properly.

I've got an ASUS A6 SMP laptop with Windows XP Pro Edition SP2. My wireless
Logitech keyboard + mouse USB-connector works fine, so do the USB-connection
to my digi camera, aswell as USB for my Creative MP3 player.
But, the USB for my MAPOWER external harddisk stopped working! :(

I instaled a MS Wireless Desktop Elite on my system and the computer will not
go into sleep mode nor will the screen saver work.  I have installed updated
