There is a little PC embedded in an instrument. The instrument needs to know if the PC is turned on/powered up so that when the power to the instrument is turned off, it can handle the internal PC correctly. Cracking the case on the PC is not an option. The PC has the following

Suddenly the Volume Icon has disappeared from the System Tray.. In the Taskbar Properties, "Hide inactive icons" is UNCHECKED In the Control Panel - Sounds and Audio Devices, " Place volume icon" IS CHECKED

I've replaced my mainboard, to a board with another chipset. Unfortunately the old board is defect. Is there a way to change the ide drivers to default Ide drivers without booting XP?

I changed my old motherboard with a new one (AsRock SATA2 ) that has a different chip set. Unfortunately the windows XP doesn't reboot . Do anyone know if is possible and how to update windows XP to recognize the new mother-board without the complete reinstallation of the OS ?

I had a hard drive fail with an error message and I could not get it to reboot without an error message. I got a new hard drive and it's up and running. Is there a way to slave my old drive to recover my files?

Hi I asked a simalar question recently about AGP cards of differnet speeds but now I would like to know about a specific card. I notice that the geForce FX 5200 128MB AGP card will work in a 2,4 or 8 speed slot. Will the Aopen FX 5500 also work in the whole range of slots?
