Is running the disk checker in the GUI mode (right_click the
drive->Properties->Tools->Error-checking) the same as running CHKDSK in a
DOS box?
I ran the GUI mode (including Scan_for_and_attempt_recovery_of_bad_sectors)

i just got my pc fix and when it came back my directx driver was not in
it so i have been trying to put it back in but not doing any good need
help

Bottom line, I have tried to install three different USB devices and
none of them will install. I have four other USB devices (mouse, 2X
external HD and a Smart Card reader) working fine. I also have a USB to
serial cable installed. WinXP is up to date (even installed the !@#$

While i was playing counterstrike suddenly i had no sound anymore. I haven´t

I have had the P100 for a few months running XP Pro SP2, and noticed
that very second or third word would miss registering the key presses
and the touch pad would move smoothly for a few seconds then jerk to a
different point on the path the cursor was moving on..

Not one driver available on any site for my Aureal 8830 vortex2 sound
card is working for either of  XP/2003. Any pointers to FULLY WORKIGN
