I have an USB device that won't let me delete files. When I try to delete the files, I get a message that the file is protected. I right click on any file on that device, the file is not protected.

My desktop HD seems to have crashed. I cannot boot to it at all. My laptop HD has started to make clunking noises, and it fails after about 15-20 minutes. I've been able to get some data off the laptop by copying it to a USB Flash drive before the hard drive starts

I have three identical Western digital 80gb drives. All are configured as 1 or 2 NTFS partitions. One I will call DATA, another XP-OLD, and the 3rd XP-NEW I used to run XP-OLD and DATA as Primary and Secondary Masters

This is very strange. My external USB Maxtor HD's drive letter shows everywhere EXCEPT in Disc Management...in my second XP Pro partition only. In the other installations it shows up just fine as it also does in the associated backup software.
